The Cardi Boys Product Review: Iams Digestive Care Cat Food

The Cardi Boys (aka Ziggy and Rip) have asked if they can do a product review.  I, of course, said yes.

Here it is:

We would like to take this time to review Iams Digestive Care Cat Food.

Our Humans brought this food home for the cats 2 weeks ago.

We DO NOT APPROVE of this cat food.

Before they brought this cat food home, the Stripey Cat used to puke a lot.  And many times, she puked in our area.

Since this cat food, that puking has stopped.  Meaning we do not get our usual between-meal snacks.

Of course, The Humans have not increased our food and we may soon starve.

GRRR to Iams.  We do not recommend your cat food to homes with Cardigans.

Sincerely,
Ziggy and Rip

Rip: The Host with The Most

It's the holiday season and many people are traveling, or preparing to travel.  Hospitality is of utmost importance, so I would like to share with you why Rip makes visiting our home so truly special.

He is The Host with The Most!

Before you arrive, he will prepare your suite.

He will greet you at the door.

He will warm up a place for you to sit.

He will call you to the sofa when the movie starts.

Depending on how the night goes,
he will party with you...

...or snuggle down to keep you warm.

He's a great drinking buddy.  No drinking alone with Rip around!
(p.s.- lest you think I'm a bad dog owner, Rip did not drink this glass of wine,
but he will stick his tongue in your glass if you're not watching)

He will ensure that your socks are properly aired.

No need to bring an alarm clock!
He will wake you up with a leap and a lick!

He will even bring you Starbucks!
Well, sort of.

Wanna read the paper after breakfast?
No problem, he's "saving" it for you.

And after you've gone, he'll clean up anything you've left out.

And THAT, my friends is why Rip is The Host with The Most!

Note from Rip: Humans are so confusing

Rip wanted me to post something for him...

In the wintertime, a mouse moves into our air conditioner outside to bed down for the winter.  This drives my brother and I crazy.  Since my brother now isn't walking, it's up to me to watch the mouse.  Here's kinda what he looks like:

Vexatious little vermin!

Well, a couple of weeks ago I caught him!  I was so excited.  I carried him around for a little while.  Then I put him down and he ran away.  I guess that means I can continue to look for him.

My dad saw me with the mouse, and was not happy that I let him go.  Something about me needing to kill mice because they cause problems.

Now, I'm a smart dog and I like to do things that make humans happy (like licking them, for example).  So I was determined not to make the same mistake again.

A couple of days later I heard mom talking about her new mouse.  Mouse!!  That caught my attention!  Perhaps I could help!  And help I did.  Let me show you:

See!  I got that mouse!  And I killed it.  I chewed up the front really well.  I was so proud.  I just knew that this would make up for letting the other mouse go.

But did it?  NO!!!

The humans were not happy.  Kill the mouse.  Don't kill the mouse.  Humans are so confusing.

WTF Friday - Found in my yard

Oh yes, this is what you think it is.

A dog poo made entirely of "non-traditional" materials
(i.e., no fecal matter in it - is that even possible?)

Guess just WHAT the dog(s) ate to produce this??

And, though don't know for sure who did this (it happened while we were on vacation), bonus points if you can get the culprit(s) right, too.

Rip supports recycling

Today is recycling day for us.  Yesterday The Husband took the container of plastics out of the cupboard, and set it on the floor in the kitchen before taking it out to the curb.

I heard some strange noises.  Then I saw this:

Maybe if I trot quickly into the other room she won't see me...

Oh no!  She saw me!
Maybe if I look cute she won't take it away.

Milk cartons make great chew toys!

(Mr. Naughtypants strikes again!)

Trio Product Review #2: LLBean Therapeutic Dog Bed

Denzil wanted me to post a product review for his dog bed.
This is the LL Bean Therapeutic Dog Bed

My mom bought this bed for me a while ago.   She claims that the bed is high quality, and that the bumps on the bed should "eliminate pressure points" and "ease joint pain."  This may be true, but I do not like this bed.  I refuse to lay for any amount of time on this bed.

Here's what the bed looked like for a long time:

It was in the family room but I would not lay on it.  Notice I am not on this bed.

Sometimes I would lay my head on it:

It makes a pretty good pillow.

Sometimes I use it to prop myself up:

It works nicely as a paw rest, but I do not like to lay on it.

So my mom moved the bed to the bedroom and put it into what she calls the "prime sleeping location."  Yes, this location is closest to her, but I would still not lay on it.

So she tried to put an extra dog bed on top of it.  She claims this makes it softer and better for nesting.

I still will not lay on it.  At night, she sometimes puts me on this bed.  I stay on the bed until she's asleep, then I move to one of the other dog beds.

I find these beds much more appealing.

Now, I don't want you to think that I am picky about where I lay.

I sometimes just lay down on the floor (it's better than that dog bed).

I love to lay on the sofa.  My mom lifts me up and down so I can snuggle with the pack.

I also love to lay in the Pottery Barn Kids Anywhere Chair.  This is my brother's chair, but he doesn't stay in it all the time.  Sometimes I get my turn.  He loves this chair.  I think he's told you about it before.

It's nothing against LL Bean.  They make nice dog beds, and dog blankets, and floor mats that I lay on.  We even have another LL Bean bed that's almost just the same.  Without the therapeutic pad.  I love that bed.

I have also been known to lay in mud puddles when I can find them.  My mom doesn't have a picture of that, but she says she'll get one once Iowa thaws out enough for mud puddles.

You see, I'm not a picky dog.  But I do not like to lay on the therapeutic dog bed.  I do not recommend it to other corgis.

Trio Product Review #1: Pottery Barn Kids Chair

Ziggy wanted me to post a product review for one of his favorite products:

The Pottery Barn Kids Anywhere Chair

Originally, we bought this chair for The Child (human).  It's kid-sized, and light enough for a kid to haul around.  An armchair all their own.

When Ziggy arrived, he thought it was the "AnyCardi" Chair rather than the Anywhere chair.  Here's his review:

I have loved this chair since I arrived at my new home.  It is perfectly sized for a puppy - a chair of my own!

I laid in chair, and I played in the chair...

I even chewed on the handle of the chair and drug it around (mom didn't like that, though):

What could be better?

Then I started to grow, but my love for the chair did not diminish.  It just became a little more challenging to sleep in the chair.  I'm a Cardigan, though, and we're nothing if not determined.  I just had to find new ways to fit.

This one didn't work so well.

Maggie tried to show me a new one.

I thought that one was too prissy.

I found that the curl method works best.  Look at how comfortable the chair is if you just curl up really tight.

Throwing your head over the side works well, too.

In fact, if you lean on one side of the chair enough, it will start to flatten out to make it easier to sleep in:

The chair is also comfortable when it's knocked over.

The chair can even become part of frapping - just jump up quickly, bark, then jump down.

My brother and sister like the chair, too - but not as much as me.

Cats even like the chair (but I don't consider this a selling point):

Sometimes mom pulls the cover off and washes it.  I don't recommend this, but she just keeps doing it.  I guess if it means we get to keep the chair, then that's ok.

I highly recommend this chair for all Cardigans.  That's the end of my review.
